We're all good. geoff resigned, m and l starting exams next week, em and i are going to cyprus for 10 days at the end of the month. Went camping to elandskloof with o's a few weeks back - was freeeezing. they have a collie called toby and it was his first camping trip. A one-eyed ostrich took a liking to our campsite and the donkeys were scrounging for food - all v exciting for toby! missed you and peg. had a laugh remembering the 'dangling bits' hahaha. We all send our love to you all. give peg a scratch from us. XXXXXX
Ang! Lovely to hear from you. Lucky you to be off to Cyprus. Have a lovely time. Good luck to Meg and Lucy with their exams and to Geoff with new ventures. I wish we could have been camping with you - will look forward to more of that on our return. I'd LOVE to meet Toby and I'm impressed that there's another camping collie in the world - well done O's! Love to all of you and the O's.
Hello Bel, trust all well with you and Peggy.. You seem to be making progress with all your visa problems etc.. Well done.. Its still a big far away, but be careful in Mali as the situation there doesn't seem to be kosher with some attacks on Muslim tombs etc..
Take care and come back safe.. Chi Chi says hi to Peggy..
PS : Rusty was bitten by our Rabbit (yes) and had to go to the vet for some staples and stuff as he had a big gash.. Phew, these animals are keeping me on the edge.. ;)
Hi Bel, hope you are all fine - no posts for a while, so wondering how things are going? Em and I are back from our glorious visit to the cousins in Cyprus. Def planning another trip there! It was fab. Hope to hear some news of your adventures soon. Loads of love. XXXX
Wow, Belinda, this is an awesome adventure .... And you seem to be doing some very interesting things. I thought Africa Overland was mainly digging 4 wheel drives out of holes or thick sand! I might be tempted yet. When you one, you must definitey come to Cape Town and share all your travel stories. And you are the person who can inspire me to use my 4x4 for more than minor dirt roads. Travel safe & keep the stories coming. Lots of love
Hi Jen and Bel, Back to basics, how little we actually need to survive, what ausome experiances. Worth the effort and hardship, its hard work making such great memories. Hope you have managed to stay healthly happy and safe. Love Joan
Hi Joanie!! Ya, hard work, as you say, but the memories and growing experience will be priceless! Sometimes, when the 48 year old body creeks out the tent, I wish I had done this in my 20's like you! Love to Courts and Lance - J XXx
Hi Bel & Jen, just dropped in to say hi, glad to hear you are still having a wonderful time. The kids are following the route on the map, Cameron wants to know if we can do that next year, I have suggested a one way ticket to you for Christmas on many occassions, however now that he's coming up for 11 he has all the answers like 'I can't fly on my own Mum!!') Alex hasa decided he is going to follow in your footsteps when he and his friend Finn leave school and go on their adventures - which I believe is scheduled for some time next April. So there you go inspiring the next generation to explore. Have fun, miss you loads x (All Sophia wants to know is how Peg is doing x
You are a very funny Mum. It's lovely to know the kids are keeping up. Peggy sends lots of licks to Sophia. Tell the boys, they are welcome to join in anytime. Name the airport and I'll collect! Lots of love to you all, Bel
Hi Bel, et al - sorry I have taken so long to communicate, but what with our own trips away, a crashed hard drive and my technological challenges, all I have managed to do so far is think about you guys (sorry, girls!) and hope you are having as great a time as you anticipated. Having now mastered the challenge of first finding your blog after searching old laptops, etc, and I hope working out how to comment, here I am. All at K9SARA often talk about you and wonder how you are doing, so I am pleased to read that things seem to be going really well, even if your Landy did fall over at one stage - very easy to do on those heavy sand roads. We almost did the same years ago on the road to Kaudom in Namibia. Will try to keep in touch through the Blog, but in the meantime, keep on keeping on. John
Hi Bel and Jen, just wanted to say hi! Peter and I are now in Windhoek ... after almost a month in DRC (only a couple of days) and beautiful but expensive Angola. Now we are recovering from a kind of culture/civilisation shock here in Namibia - even worse, lots of people actually speak German ;-). On the bright side: I'm through with French for the time being ... Hope you two and Peg are fine - will follow your travels and your blog (already love it!) and hope we'll meet again somewhere somehow! All the best for Cameroon - and hopefully always enough Gin&Tonic (for medical and other reasons ;-))... and of course lots of birds ... Sabine & Peter
Being super organised, have started my cards and when I got the J's realised I wouldn't be able to send you a card, as you will still be travelling hope you are having a super super time, do you still plan to be in Ghana for Christmas? love Always x
We are RUDEC Cameroon(www.rudec.org) are sad to miss you all. Meeting powerful women like you was a blessing to our community and Cameroon as a whole... We hope to meet another time!!!!
